Work With Fire – Colossians 3:23

Colossians 3:23

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.

There is no small work when it is done for the Lord.

None.

The issue is not the task.
The issue is the heart.

God uses men who know how to work.

It was while Moses was tending sheep that God met him in the wilderness fire.
It was while Elisha was plowing that the mantle fell across his shoulders.
It was while Peter and Andrew were casting nets that Jesus called them.
It was while Saul was on assignment, moving with intensity toward Damascus, that heaven interrupted him.

None of them were idle.

None of them were parked, waiting for destiny to knock.

They were working.

There is a dangerous myth in spiritual circles that says calling arrives while you sit still long enough. But Scripture shows something different. God meets movement. He redirects effort. He sanctifies labor.

Many say they are waiting on God.

But waiting in Scripture is not passive. It is faithful in the present.

If you sweep floors, sweep them like Christ will inspect them.
If you manage accounts, balance them like they belong to Him.
If you build, teach, fix, drive, design, parent, or lead, do it with full heart.

Heartily means from the soul.

Not mechanical.
Not resentful.
Not bare minimum.

Think of a blacksmith at the forge. If he strikes lightly, the metal never shapes properly. But if he swings with strength and intention, sparks fly and iron forms. Half effort produces half formed lives. Whole heart produces transformation.

Promotion in the kingdom often hides behind ordinary faithfulness.

God does not hand greater responsibility to those who neglect the smaller ones. He watches how you carry what is already in your hands.

You want greater opportunity?

Work.

Work when no one applauds.
Work when no one notices.
Work when it seems beneath you.

Because when your labor is directed upward, not outward, your motive changes. You are not chasing approval. You are offering worship.

And it is often in the middle of steady, unseen obedience that the tap comes.

A whisper.
A redirection.
A mantle.
A call.

But it comes to those already moving.

Do what you are doing.
Do it fully.
Do it as unto the Lord.

And let Him decide when the next door opens.
