Croaking Toward Armageddon – Revelation 16:13-14

Revelation 16:13, 14

And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

As the Tribulation draws near its close, John sees something revolting. Three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouths of the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet. That alone tells you a lot. What is coming out of hell’s system is not clean, not pure, not life giving. It is filthy, deceptive, and demonic.

And the fact that these spirits come out of their mouths is important. Satan has always worked through lies, suggestions, and deception. He speaks. He whispers. He plants thoughts. He stirs rebellion. Here, as the end approaches, he is still doing the same thing, only now on a global scale.

These unclean spirits go out to the kings of the earth, influencing them, moving them, drawing them toward the final battle. It is as though hell is croaking in their ears, “Go to Megiddo. Go to Megiddo.” The rulers of the world may think they are acting in strength, wisdom, and strategy, but behind it all Satan is pushing the whole thing forward.

That is the frightening thing about deception. A man under its power usually thinks he is seeing clearly.

The text says these are spirits of devils, working miracles. That means signs and wonders alone prove nothing. Just because something is supernatural does not mean it is from God. If it leads men away from truth, away from Christ, and away from repentance, it is not holy no matter how impressive it may seem.

But do not miss the bigger picture. These kings are being gathered to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. Satan is active, yes. Demons are moving, yes. The nations are being stirred, yes. But above all of it, God is still in control. The enemy may think he is arranging the board, but in the end he is only moving exactly where the Lord has allowed.

And there is a lesson there for us right now. Not every voice deserves your attention. Not every strong impression is from the Lord. Not every repeated message is true. The enemy still works through suggestion, pressure, and spiritual noise. That is why we must stay close to the Word of God. If you listen to hell long enough, you will start marching in the wrong direction while convincing yourself you are being wise.

Stay near the voice of Jesus. Stay in the Scriptures. Stay humble before the Lord. In a world full of deception, that is the safest place to be.
