The Lamb Wins – Revelation 17:14

Revelation 17:14

These shall make war with the Lamb and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

This is where the whole thing has been heading.

The beast gathers kings. He builds alliances. He stirs the nations. He pulls the world into his rebellion. But underneath all of it, the issue is not merely political power or military conflict. The real target is the Lamb. The final objective of Antichrist is to oppose Jesus Christ Himself.

That has always been the heart of rebellion. Satan does not merely hate morality or religion in a general sense. He hates the Son. He hates the Lamb. He hates the One who was slain and rose again. Every antichrist spirit, every persecuting empire, every beastly system has always been moving in that same direction. War against the Lamb.

But the outcome is never really in doubt.

The verse says plainly, the Lamb shall overcome them. Not that He might. Not that He could if conditions are right. He shall. The One they hate is the One they cannot defeat. The One they mock is the One who will conquer them. The One they regard as weak because He first came as a Lamb will be revealed as the sovereign King over every throne and every ruler.

That is why the next words matter so much. He is Lord of lords, and King of kings. He is not one ruler among many. He is above them all. Every crown answers to Him. Every kingdom exists under His authority. Every would be conqueror eventually meets Him.

So Antichrist may gather his forces and stage his rebellion, but he is attempting the impossible. He is making war against the highest throne in heaven and earth. He is fighting a battle he cannot win.

And notice who is with the Lamb. They that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. What a description of the people of God. Called by grace. Chosen in mercy. Faithful because the Lord has held them fast. Their security does not rest in their own strength, but in the triumph of the One they follow.

That makes this more than prophecy. It becomes comfort.

Because sometimes evil looks organized, united, and frighteningly strong. Sometimes darkness seems to be gaining ground. Sometimes it feels as though rebellion has all the momentum. But Revelation keeps lifting our eyes and reminding us that no matter how fierce the opposition becomes, the Lamb wins.

That means the people who belong to Him are on the winning side, even when the hour feels dark.

So do not be shaken by the beast. Do not be intimidated by the kings of the earth. Do not be overwhelmed by the noise of rebellion. The end of the story is already written. The Lamb shall overcome them.
