Genesis 21:25
And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water, which Abimelech’s servants had violently taken away.
I like this because it shows balance.
Abraham had just been humble. He did not argue or defend himself. But when it came to the well, he spoke up. He did not stay quiet just to keep things pleasant.
That matters, because humility is not pretending there is no problem. It is not protecting your ego, but it also is not avoiding the truth. Abraham stayed low, but he was still honest.
That is a good word for us. Some people think being spiritual means never addressing anything difficult. But sometimes silence is not humility. Sometimes it is just fear. Abraham shows a better way. He is calm, respectful, and clear.
He does not make it about himself. He simply deals with what is wrong.
That is real maturity.
