Revelation 18:4
And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
What mercy is in that verse. Even in the Tribulation, when judgment is falling and Babylon is swelling with arrogance, the Lord is still calling people to Himself. He is still separating a people for His name. He is still speaking with compassion in the middle of wrath.
This voice from heaven is a call to those who come to faith during that dark hour. The church is already with the Lord, but God is not done saving souls. Not at all. In that terrible season, many will finally see the truth, believe the gospel, and turn to Christ. And to those new believers comes this urgent word: come out of her.
Babylon is not just a city or a system in this passage. It is a whole world order built on pride, compromise, seduction, and rebellion against God. The Lord says to His people, do not stay tangled up in it. Do not share in her sins. Do not settle down in what I am about to judge. Get out while your heart is still tender. Step away while you can still hear My voice.
That is always the loving heart of God. He warns before He strikes. He calls before He judges. He opens a door before He closes one. Even here, with plagues on the horizon, we hear not only justice, but mercy. The Lord is saying, You do not have to go down with Babylon. You do not have to drink what she drinks. You do not have to share her end.
There is a word in that for us too. We may not be living in the Tribulation, but we are surrounded by a world system that still pulls on the flesh. The same Babylonian spirit is at work every time the world says compromise, blend in, chase pleasure, trust wealth, and forget holiness. And the Lord still says to His people, come out. Be separate. Stay clean. Do not let what is under judgment become what you learn to love.
Beloved, whenever God says come out, it is never to rob us. It is always to spare us. He calls us away from what will wound us and into what will keep us. His warnings are not harsh interruptions. They are loving rescues.
So hear the voice of heaven. Do not toy with Babylon. Do not make peace with what God has marked for destruction. Walk with Jesus. Stay near His Word. Keep your heart soft. The safest place to be is always outside the thing God is about to judge.
